Who we are

Our salsa-making journey started quite by accident. Jokingly, Gabriel mentioned to co-workers that he would bring the “world’s greatest salsa” for them to try. When Gabriel brought the salsa in, a small crowd gathered to try it, and the rest is history.

Gabriel learned to make this salsa from his mother, Miss Judy, years ago. After tweaking the recipe, putting our spin on it, and perfecting the recipe, we brought it to market and enjoy sharing it with the world.

Gabriel comes from a long line of great cooks, and it’s important to note that our success is not possible without the many lessons learned while growing up making and selling tamales or cooking with his grandmother, Ana Maria Mendoza.

When we are not running our business, we enjoy being around family and being outdoors. Whether it’s chasing puffins to photograph or tasting delicious food from throughout the New England area, we enjoy making memories!

You may have noticed these two frames we display when we are out at markets. This is Mama Anita, Gabriel’s grandmother. She was a huge influence on him and taught him perseverance, courage, and love. Gabriel was her co-pilot while selling tamales, and she could often be found scratching his head to fall asleep, or as he would tell her, “dame piojito.”

This is John, Brittany’s dad. He was a long-time businessman who could build successful ventures. Brittany keeps him alive by often sharing stories and memories with Gabriel.

We include our loved ones in our display to remind ourselves that our success is a direct result of those who came before us.
